WHO/CLBC Brew Day
We had a great brew day at Captain Lawrence Brewing Company with Adam Calderone as our June meeting. To recap, we brewed a NEIPA using Omega Yeast’s Helio Gazer, which is their ramped-up version of the Cosmic Punch yeast. Scott Hirsch and I did a talk on Thiolized yeast strains back in March 2022 (See related Post). In addition to getting hold of this yeast strain, we were able to use Phantasm Powder in the whirlpool, which will boost the thiol precursors and hopefully enhance those tropical aromas typical of the style.
We’re grateful to both Adam and Scott Vaccaro for allowing us to play with the big train set for a day.
